The term Falcata derived from the Latin falcatus, meaning literally "falcon-shaped”.The falcata is a type of sword typical of pre-Roman Iberia. This Sword was used to great void for Warfare in the ancient Iberian peninsula and is strongly linked with the southern Iberia tribes, among other ancient peoples of Hispania. It was highly rated by the ancient general Hannibal, who equipped Carthaginian troops with it during the Second Punic War. The Falcata has a single-edged blade that casts forward towards the point, the edge from the hilt is concave but convex towards the point. The shape of this Delus sword divides the weight in such a way that the falcata is capable of delivering a blow with the momentum of an axe. The grip is commonly hook-shaped, the end often formalized in the shape of a horse or a bird.
